FAQ

Is my job too big or too small?

No! From bricking up fireplaces to building whole houses, from fencing to laying driveways; I have worked on jobs of all shapes and sizes and will undertake all types of work.

How much can I expect to pay?

Every job is different and cost will vary widely depending on size, materials and finish. I understand that undertaking a large home improvement is a big decision and will do everything I can to tailor the service to your budget. The best thing to do is to book a free consultation to discuss the work in more detail. It may be more affordable than you think!

Do you provide materials?

Materials can be priced into the job and I would source them for you. However, if you prefer to get your own materials, I can also quote for labour only.

Are you just a bricklayer?

Although I trained at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College and completed a three year apprenticeship in brickwork, my varied experience since has allowed me to learn a variety of trades and offer a wider range of services. And if there’s anything I can’t do, you don’t need to worry about searching for other tradesmen to complete the job as I have a broad range of contacts.

Do I need to sort out planning permission and building regulations?

Planning permission is required on most new buildings or if an extension will be above a certain size. However, some will be considered a permitted development and will not require permission. Also, rules vary depending on the type of property. Most jobs also require building regulations. Further details for both can be found here: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permission/. I am more than happy to offer support and advice throughout planning.

Do I need to sort out architectural drawings?

I can work to your plans if you have your own architect that you would like to use or I can recommend an architect who I regularly work in partnership with.
